Celebrating Strength: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
A cause that is near to my heart is cancer awareness (specifically breast and lung), as I have lost several close to me on its behalf. I must say the event that truly opened my eyes to the reality of breast cancer, was the passing of one of my high school classmates in 2006. She was in her 20s. I had my first mammogram last November due to a scare, but thankfully it was benign, and a result of too much caffeine. To those who are less fortunate than I, I support you and celebrate your strength and courage. October is for you! Visit the National Breast Cancer Foundation for more information on how you can support.
